When a friend of mine saw the zipped laptop sleeve on my website he immediately wanted one. It was supposed to keep his laptop cosy in his messenger bag. So, I made one. His bag is dark green and brown and because in my universe things have to match I started searching the right fabric. I remembered that I still had this 'felted accident' of a, for my taste, ugly brown-green jumper. Up to this day I don't know why I ever bought that jumper, because I really don't like brown and green colour combinations. I can only assume that what attracted me was its quality. I took the jumper apart and put it together again as a nice aaaand cosy laptop sleeve but constructed it differently this time. The collar became a flap; the front and the back became ... front and back; and part of a sleeve became a little pocket on the front to hold my friend's passport. I thought centring it all is boring so I put the pocket on the right side and the magnet closure on the left. It turned out that it goes exceptionally well with the messenger bag, as if I had bought the fabric for the sleeve to match the bag. When I gave my friend the sleeve he looked as happy as a toddler on Christmas Day. That really made my day. The next day he told me that his laptop is really cosy. What more can you want? What you perceive as ugly can become the nicest thing in the world for someone else! I'm glad I once bought that jumper.
